The Township of Neptune was incorporated in 1879, from portions of Ocean Township. Portions left to form Neptune City 1881, Bradley Beach 1893 and Ocean Grove 1920 but came back in 1921 because it was unconstitutional and restored to Neptune Township as of June 16, 1921 break away.
Ocean Grove and Shark River Hills, a land development at one time, are considered sections of the Township.

Shore Lanes located at State Highway 35, bowling started at 9am daily, from the early 1960's.
New Jersey National Bank
The New Jersey National Bank, located then off State Highway 66, near the Sears Building, from the 1970's.
Storyland Village, located once on State Highway 66, west from the Asbury Park Circle. A great place to get lost on 50 acres years ago. Sears was built here in 1964. Don't try biting this gingerbread house! Noah's Ark, loaded with birds. My main man, Jack the Giant killer.

The Shore Restaurant Equipment Co., Inc., restaurant supplies for anything was located at 11-15 South Main Street.
Jumping Brook Golf & Country Club
The Jumping Brook Golf and Country Club, always a nice time at the place back in 1945.
